Adeline Yen Mah books
Mar 17
I went to Borders this afternoon to get the Twilight graphic novel, and while I was just browsing around upstairs in the younger readers section I spotted a new book in the Chinese Cinderella series!! SCORE!!
The Chinese Cinderella books are written by Adeline Yen Mah and they began as spin-offs of her autobiography, Fallen Leaves.
Fallen Leaves tells the story of Adeline, the unwanted daughter.
He mother died giving birth to her, and then hardly any of her family wanted anything to do with her. This is her story of how she lived in China and how she left to study medicine in America.
There is a childrens version, which is easier to understand for younger readers.
The Chinese Cinderella books revolve around “CC” (meaning Chinese Cinderella) who first appears in “Chinese Cinderella and The Secret Dragon Society” as a young girl who is simillar to Adeline (It pretty much is her although this book is fiction) who, after insulting her Father’s new wife, is thrown out onto the streets. She finds refuge in a martial arts academy and then the story goes from there. (I’m not giving away any of the story, you’ll have to read it :P)
This is the book I bought today, “Chinese Cinderella: The Mystery of the Song Dynasty Painting”.
It starts just as the previous book is finishing, all I’m telling (and know, I’ve only just started reading it!) is that CC goes into a coma after an accident and then starts remembering a past life.
So yeah, I’m off to finish reading……!!
